Poetic Reflection Week 16 on Ina

Tell us about yourself.

I am a Dutch writer of romantic novels, living on the island of Terschelling. Married, 3 sons, and since Oct. 17 of this year, a granddaughter J

Tell me about your blog, the name, what does it mean to you?

My first English weblog was called inaweblog, I got mixed up in some fight I never wanted so I stopped blogging and deleted that blog, but after 2 weeks I decided to start over :) inaweblogisback.

When did you start blogging?

I am not sure, 2004 or 2005. In Dutch that is.

Your first poem? Remember?

My very first one published was in primary school but I don’t remember it anymore!

What are your writing inspirations?

For poems, sometimes it is a thought, sometimes a sentence; my novels are just thinking up a story.

How do you define poetry as “Good”? Do you revise your work?

Poetry is good when it makes you awe. Shiver.  Then it is good.

I do revise, I try to make the rhythm the way I want it etc. I check spelling but I still make mistakes.

When did you start writing poetry? Do you write fiction as well?

I write English poetry since October last year, so one year. I write fiction for a living since 1997.

Do you have a favorite author or poet?

Vladimir Nabokov used to be my fav. writer, I don’t know many poets yet, Philip Larkin is a favourite at the moment.

Why do you support Jingle Poetry Community, including Jingle Poetry @ The Gooseberry Garden?

I like the thought of stimulating to write poetry, they do a great job.

What's your plan for your future writing?

I am writing a Dutch novel now and hope to keep doing that, and in March my book with English poems will be published, “Veritas” which is in the editing phase now, maybe do one more?

Very nice interview Ina. It remains a wonderful thing for us to share our poetry and writings. I have written since 1998 and yet to be published in terms of poetry. It must be quite nice living on an island, and I must say, when I was a small boy, we visited Holland. Beautiful country-side. Thank you for taking me back to some precious moments of my life.
