Friday Poetry Blog Review Week 30 on Lady Nyo

Howdy y’all, this is A.B. Thomas and I have been given the opportunity to do this week’s blog review. To be truthful, I was a little hesitant when I was asked to do a blog review; I don’t really see the technical side of writing or art as being as important as how the work presents the uniqueness of the artist within their creation. On the other hand, I loathe turning down a challenge that takes me out of my comfort zone – one cannot expand their own understanding of themselves if they remain entombed in their own cocoon, can they?  I hope I don’t fuddle this up too much!
The Who
Lady Nyo’s Webblog – a woman writer’s invitations to all other writers
Impressions of the blog
Lady Nyo’s blog is very minimalistic and clean looking in its presentation; her work, a header and a blog roll are all that are presented on the pages. The template she chose really allows for the images that she has chosen to a part of the entries stand out to draw a reader to that particular piece.  The centered single column style allows the reader to be undistracted by a conflicting activity to either side of the work.
Lady Nyo’s work is outstanding to read; she mixes her presentation with art, thoughts, information, and perception with her creativity. She not only presents an obvious knack for the poetic flair and penning of such but presents episodic stories that are thoroughly entertaining to read.
Suggestions
I find that I am at odds with myself in the inclination of the nature of the suggestion I would have for this blog.  My initial reaction to the lack of a category or archive feature to her entries was confusion; how was I to focus on a particular poetic style or theme? The flip side of this lack was that I enjoyed simply reading without having that expectation of anticipating a specific subject or feel.  Having no quick link to archived material could be an intentional omission on her part, and if it is so, it is her blog and the quality of the work is what is the focus not the frills to which end she has provided ample delights for the mind to dance cheek to cheek with the imagination.
I would like to thank Lady Nyo for putting her thoughts, experiences, opinions and creativity into the blogosphere for all to enjoy, and I hope that she continues to provide such delicious mind candy for me to savour.

Friday Blog Review ~ Week 28 ~ L (Untitled moments)

This week we are highlighting another fine artist/poet/writer to her wonderful blog called Untitled Moments.

Untitledmoments - it just came to me... I sat down to write and decided that I was going to title all the moments that have been left on titled.
About The Author

A little about the writer, ~L

I am 28. Young, but feel like I have grown up too fast. I started this blog to express the way I feel as I deal with remembering a past long ago. I am determined to rise above the odds. I have begun a courageous battle and yes, at times I wonder if I’ll make it through to see victory, but I have a hope that I will be free from this one day.

The Blog

Untitled Moments

In this blog you will find nothing but my heart. I may be indirect at times but that’s okay, I think. You will see my passion for music. I hope you take the time to watch the videos I posted. Music has always been a huge part of my life.
I give many thanks to those who are helping me now. I could not do this with out you! I thank God for those He has put in my life to guide me along this narrow road.

Her Poetry

L has amazing talent her poetry, prose reach within the readers soul, her fight with her personal battles have made her a warrior and her faith in God is what makes her writing reach through the web sphere.

As this quotes reads, " when you complete your life's book of challenges in the world we live, always remember that your next challenge awaits you to begin, where you will end up in the next plane is not for you to choose."

L's poetry is a guide to the hidden answers that lays within you.  She has a gift that was given by God.

Note to L~ never stop giving up in life keep on progressing to the end.

Her Inspiration in her own words on her interview with JP at Olive Garden

What are your writing inspirations?

Well... I think healing is my inspirations. Writing what truly lies with in... Releasing the pain... I also like to write about my passions and beautiful nature.

Poem of her that truly captures the reader was this newer ones I have read on her blog.

Broken Melody

Daddy’s little girl. Brings a smile to his day
Daddy’s little girl. Twirls about in the summer’s breeze
Daddy’s little girl. Dances under the willow trees
and sings, oh she sings
the world away

And when we’re apart her love follows me
Opening my heart with her magic key
Growing life from sun to sea
And nothing can take away the smile
she has for me
And nothing can take away
the love I have for she
Nothing can take away…
Daddy’s little girl
Daddy’s little girl.
Brings new meaning to his life
Daddy’s little girl.
Holds the stars in her eyes
Daddy’s little girl.
Makes him proud to watch her under lights
as she sings, oh she sings
and she sings – oh- she sings
the world away
~
Daddy’s little girl. Now broken crown and heart affray
Daddy’s little girl. Swirls about in the darkened dreams
Daddy’s little girl. Advances in her memories
and cries, oh she cries
the night away
And when we’re apart his pain follows me
Breaking my heart – this cannot be
Growing fears spun from a drunken spree
And everything you did that night
stole my smile away from me
And everything you did to me
took the love I had for thee
All the loving memories
you stole them away from me
The night you forgot that I…
I was Daddy’s little girl.
Daddy’s little girl.
Brings a new meaning to her life
Daddy’s little girl.
Holds the scars in her eyes
Daddy’s little girl.
Takes memories that she once held tight
and cries, oh she cries
and she cries – oh-  she cries
The world away
Daddy’s little girl. Sees the world in a whole new way
Daddy’s little girl. Stuck in a disgusted dismay
Daddy’s little girl. Doesn’t know what to do with this today
So she cries, and she cries
Oh she cries, how she cries
the world away.

 Silent Secret Screams

I want to scream aloud
all the pain that lies within
dig at my rejecting flesh
no longer can I withstand to inhabit this skin
I desperately grieve
for this agonizing energy to leave
pleading for it to flee!
be gone
go away
I want ‘me’ back
PLEASE!!!!
My body is in great agony!
How long must this go on?
I am falling – I am weak
I am sick of being incomplete
This fear won’t let my mind speak
Too much pain to even gasp
these silent screams too much for one to grasp
there is nothing left but to collapse
as tears now trail
their threats never prevail
This is Hell on earth
I am extremely certain
behind this curtain stages Satan’s lingering flames
His relentless games
and fear has set a blaze to every single nerve!
All as I am drug across another day
where the shards of glass continue to rip open my flesh
as I bath in the salty sea as it floods
with the  forever-spilling of my blood…
waiting for sharks to attack –
because as long as I’m a bleeding beating drum
THEY WILL COME
I am burning in pain with excruciating silent screams
desperately trying to
break free from the silence
of unending sadness
and increasing madness

In desperation,
~L

This was a wonderful segment to do as L has been apart of  both communities as an official. It was a great honor to have become one of her poet friends through Jingle Poetry & Gooseberry Garden.

Friday Blog Review Week 26 ~ Week 25~A.B Thomas

Welcome back to the world of Friday Review. We have been on a break for two weeks and I am sure we all had a blast in the break from writing, but if you all are like me I am sure you kept on writing when the muse came to visit you all.
This week I am highlighting one of the officials and also a well known blogger name,AB Thomas .

About The Blogger by the author

What’s there to say really? Write and occasionally doodle.  I hail from the province of Alberta, Canada, born in the badlands and have gone out of my way to live up to being ‘bad’ – not in the Michael Jackson sense but a far poorer Russell Crowe sort of deal.
Surprisingly, the above original “about” page wasn’t enough for the few who have stumbled upon this much abbreviated input of information.  The stray tendrils of demand to formulate a formal introduction behooved me to sit down to pen such a result – mostly because I really dig the word “Behooved” so when the occasion arises that I can slide it into something I invariably do so…which coincidentally seemed to be the path that my dating life led to for a certain period of time.  To those who mistakenly have requested that I expand the ‘about’, you’re about to find out how I can walk into the bar with a twenty and come out liquored up and sixteen in change…
The ‘splash’ of this could be said to be I was born two years after the Summer of Love within the bosom of the Alberta Badlands.  My influences are many but the few that seem to stick out would be Oscar Wilde, Sir Winston Churchill, Tom Robbins, Lord Byron, Shakespeare, Truman Capote,Tom Holt, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, Dave Barry,Elvis, Barry Allen, Bobby Curtola, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols,Teenage Head and The Ramones – in other words I’m an egocentric megalomaniac punk with politically conservative views that have no linear evolution…kinda, sorta, but not really.
An accurate portrayal of how I see myself is as a disgruntled refugee from the netherworld of academia; against my better judgment I continue to think. I contend that there is a surmountable chasm between thinking and thinkin’ – with thinkin’ being the proper and advantageous way of having consciousness.  Thinking implies that it is the rules that matter, that there is an established methodology to how things are to be done, opined or dismantled.  Thinkin’, on the other hand is turning one’s attention to the apostrophe and having the options to decide what said apostrophe commutates. I don’t have faith in those that rely on a slick looking certificate hanging on their walls informing all that this person has a higher sense of validity because they were good little learners and handed in material that concurred with their professors and teachers beliefs; that and the fact that I made a bit of cash on the side writing the material for those who have those slick looking certificates hanging on their walls. So how was that for an ‘about’?  Now you know why people buy me drinks at the bar – if I’m a drinkin’, I ain’t a talkin’!

The Blog
His Poetry

If’t Broughten Miled Death be a God

A story in 55 words
In witness harken not
Who wouldst proclaim “lesson taught”
For a away far strike to kill
Tis but in naught tenured skill;
For though blooded shred
Of tissue organ bone
A part by part in strewn lie
In gether hast they die
Whist faceless Grimms
Had their try
Left are none to bemoan in cry

Say I

Upon these sheets stuck to intertwined flesh
Stickened with slick sensual sweat
There is but a pause,
A hesitate in a mere whisper,
Yet of note just the so
Sayest I:
Of this moment
Prayst do not begat a stranger’s distant,
Mayhaps in the morrow
Shalt we recant
From the seed of yearn
The actions taken
In this night of plant
In the now let these sensations slide
Become swept away
In the swell of passion’s riptide –
Hold back not
To fantasy’s abide –
Drown in the tsunami of molten excite,
Let the scorching want emanate
Out from our shared inside.

Friday Blog Review~ Week 24~ Pages from my mind

This week I have went to one of the favorites, she has been one of Jingle & Gooseberry Garden's officials.
I have been following her blog ever since I came across it on Jingle Community.
We all know by LadyNimue and her blog Pages from my mind.

“Writing is no trouble: you just jot down ideas as they occur to you. The jotting is simplicity itself - it is the occurring which is difficult." ~Stephen Leacock

The Blog

The blog sports a simple look with the Coraline template, a black background and single sidebar. The header is simple, showing a person on a bench deep in thought. The widgets like Recent Posts, Recent Comments and Tag/Category Cloud are all there and she adds others like Twitter feed, Tumblr feed and also a link to the poems/posts she liked (Only one in this list up to now). There’s no archive widget, but I remember reading her hundredth post, so I can tell its somewhere above that. I tracked her archives to April 2010.
Her Poetry
Ladynimue's words are expressive and emotional, it stretches deep within the readers being. She's enthusiastic experimenter, she has written in many forms from free verse to haiku's.
Each Poem tells a story and this one They Met, what if you have met someone over and over and knowing there is something that was destined. This is what I read in this poem.
Replicated me this one has so much solitude epscially the inner emotions of who we are.
I like how you have synchronised the words in this poem....filling the Art of life.

Friday Blog Review~ Week 23~ Summer Rain

This weeks introduction goes to a new blogger I have discovered in the holidays.
The theme and the blog title really jumped at me seeing as I have a love for the rain, which combinds it with summer, making it Summer Rain .

The Blog

There is no information about the author. But i am going to hightlight the poetry that I have read on their blog.

Excerpt on : 54 Months

Birds sing,
APRIL showers on your chin,
Romance springs at one fling.
.
With roses blossoming in JUNE,
Dine near a beach with a fork and a spoon,
Dance a disc dance under the crescent moon.
.
Fireworks in the sky,
Kites fly,
Celebrate Independence in JULY.
.
School starts,
Time 4 fine arts
And some AUGUST pop-tarts.

Another poem that describes emotions of depth and transforming ourselves to what is inside. This is one of my favorites I like the underlying message.

Excerpt : In a place where the ocean is deep & wide

In a place where the ocean is deep and wide,
Lonely soul greets the hungry tide,
Unspeakable things
scream in silence;
Broken wings
search for solace;
Deserted strings
haunt those died in violence!
This fairy
is NOT very merry,
This story
is Not that cheery,
This moment
is so very scary!
Brain-storms flood,
Thoughts stretch,
Let’s pray to God
and redo our sketch.

In the url I have read this words, " Its time for me to think for myself". which is a life lesson in itself that at some point in our lives we will have to be in charge of our own emotions and learn to control what we let in our lives.

Summer Rain if you could try an update on giving the bloggers more info on your ABOUT ME, would be great, so we can all know where you from and what inspires you.
I have enjoyed your poetry.

I am Chimnese and wishing you a great weekend ahead. Don't forget to check out Summer Rain's blog.

Friday Blog Review ~ Week 21~ Pure2Core

This is one of our newest members to The Gooseberry Garden, and what an amazing poet with great insight.
I like the slogan on the blog, "It's not just the site ,this is an insight..."
I introduce this weeks blog review, Pure2Core.

The Author
(in the authors own words)

Poet in me

As much as I remember I started my journey of poetries, when I was studying Fifth standard. My first poetry was on Id- ul- fitr after my first introduction to Hindi in the V th std.I was appreciated by my Hindi Ma’m for writing poem and got a great applause at my class. I developed an intense love towards writing poetries by watching various poets reading out their poetries in DD channel (which used to be the only one channel aired then). My journey continued ….. I started writing poetries in English(though very few) and Tamil(which is my mother tongue) too…. I request you all to excuse me for any kind of language errors b’cos my aim is not to write a literary worthy poem but to vent out my heart’s immensely deep feelings…..

The Blog

This blog is very nice I like the background of it. The Tabs leads you directly to different categories on teh webblog. On the right hand side you will find the blog roll, recent post and welcoming place.

The Poetry

Journey of life

Unplanned journey (birth)

Followed by our foolish plans;(life)

Some coincides

Some goes off the line;

Some granted and

some gets banned;

 some heart’s contended _ others

unfilled thronging in vain;

outward cries are heard

No peace or silence found;

When end is near for sure

knocking our door step _

Final full-stop

Final full-stop_

All our stupid plans

come to an end;(death)

No one wins or ever loses _

How strange are these

meaningless  plans _

got to get drowned

got to get drowned…………..

Friday Blog Review~ Week 19 ~ The Danforth Anchor

This week I am doing a review on a blog that I am sure most of you have browsed and read this author/bloggers work.
I introduce to you all, Elaine Danforth .

About The Author (in her own words)

I am no relation to the inventors of the actual Danforth Anchor, but on the day I put up my first post in this on-line publication, I learned a little about them.  They were yachtsmen from San Francisco, who designed the anchor to work well in the sandy floors common to the waters around here in the Bay Area. My name is Danforth, and like the Danforth Anchor, I was also born in San Francisco.
Though I am not a sailor, my writing anchors me as I “sail” through life, offering a respite from rough waters or just from having been sailing for too long at a stretch.  My hope is that you, my dear reader, will find something here that brings you a perspective that helps you take time out and check your bearings, so that you can move forward with greater vision and understanding in whatever direction you want to go.

Her Blog

The blog has such a peaceful serene type of welcoming, i think it's due to the template she has used from wordpress, the ocean always bring that comforting, calmness and I have notice this is what her poetry reflects as well.
You will find all recent post on the top right side, where you will also get her archives. Her poetry is all under categories giving the readers direction what poem they would want to read if they in some modd for love, sad, etc.

Her Poetry

ON PURPOSE

Purpose can cut slow and smooth
like water wearing down rock
Or fast and rough, like metal hacking
or saw-toothing through wood,
Or invisibly, it can catch and push
like wind that fills and propels
a sail to drive a boat
from dock to sea
or sea to dock. . .
All as it’s meant to be
moving ahead for the good.

I am Chimnese and it was a pleasure to review this blog, click here I know you want too.
This is a short note from myself too wish all our members and officials that celebrate christmas a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Friday Blog Review~Week 17~ The Unknowngnome Poems

This week I am bringing you another one o fmy favorite poets/blogger. I have come across this blog during the times I have been part of Poetry Potluck/Picnic challenges on a Monday.
I introduced this weeks talent as The unknowngnome .

There isn't much on this bloggers About Me, but I can just give some on how i have perceived this amazing author. There is one quote that truly express something unique about this blogger and blog.

Clarissa Pinkola Estés

"Some people mistake being loving for being a sap. Quite the contrary, the most loving people are often the most fierce and the most acutely armed for battle... for they care about preserving and protecting poetry, symphonic song, ideas, the elements, creatures, inventions, hopes and dreams, dances and holiness... those goodly endeavors that cannot be allowed to perish from this earth, else humanity itself would perish..." - from The Dangerous Old Woman audiobook

Her Blog

You can find her on twitter go directly to her blog page and follow her either on blogger or twitter. The blog has the theme of the Gnome as this is a very unique name to give to an poetry blog, but the work is more than what the Title says. Her inspiration comes from Love,Faith & Nature.

One poem I truly love is the one about the balad, I have always watch these plays on television growing up, but what she wrote in this one and where her inspiration came from must be of her kind intuitive nature.

Xisca y Aina
(Les Sylphides)

as is fate
and late arrivals in life
treasures of surprise
arrive with awe and wonder.
such she too.
a shyly sylph,
a ghost girl,
a wraith draped
twin of grace
and just as lithe
as thus afloat
ascensional breath
her laughter
but a free-fall
butterfly aflutter
in very fairylike flight.

a wisp
a purr
a curvature
her pulling up aplomb
pulls me in
firm as peacock plumage
there to quiver
not of cold
but of that belief
that holds no brevity.

how is one to dismiss yes
from such blessedness
and bleedings en pointe
and the sweet blissful
disciplines of her devotion?

let it be counted all joy,
for even yet her sprightliness
lingers in ebb
ebulliently abloom
shimmering in the fading
of her four part ballet for two.

I am Chimnese and it was a pleasure to review this blog, click here I know you want. Till next week and have an amazing weekend.

Friday Poetry Blog ~ Week 15 ~ Write It Robin

I thought that today I am going to hightlight this blogger's WebBlog, she has been apart of the Jingle Community & The Gooseberry Garden as one of the officials. She is also my partner doing the Reviews on various blogs on the communities, we first worked together doing the Tuesday Reviews and now we do the Friday Blog Review, I have read her reviews and she captures the essence of each blog so wonderfully.
Some may know her some may not, but I am sure we all know her talent as a poetess is amazing, she is none other then Robin from the blog Write.It .

About The Author

I have'nt found anything on her as she has no about me page, Robin I think you should ad some info on yourself so that the readers get to know you.

About Her Blog

I think the new look is super cool, I am sure that there must be a story behind the title of the blog.
It is a blog with many illustrations, she has all kinds of genres that she writes in, she also have a facebook page for her blog, once you on her blog in the far left corner you will get the links to her google profile, facebook, also twitter. She has many other links such as blogroll.
the top of the page you will get your homepage, content( here I discovered she has done all her post alphabetically) she writes about many other issues such as depression and so many more.

Her Poetry

This poem completely stood out to me, I think most of us can relate to her words.

Remember
By Robin Elizabeth
I can’t tell you I know how you feel.
I can’t tell you that I understand.
Everything still feels unreal.
And I’m waiting for the news to break,
That this was all just a dream.
Sometimes I wish,
Things could all go back,
To how they were before,
When everything was alright,
Or so it would seem.
But I guess everything has it’s reason.
Even when no one understands.
We won’t always know how to cope.
But we know, now, we must learn.
We were given no other choice.
We might not understand.
Why so much pain and confusion must be caused.
But only One knows the plans.
Only One can understand.
Just listen for The Voice.
And I may not understand.
Exactly how you’re feeling.
But I do understand,
That it’s unbearable to remember.
But He has His reasons.
So when times feel rather odd.
Because things feel so different.
Don’t break down in misery.
But remember in joy the times,
Each memory, the seasons.

On a christian point of view, we as people we have those moments when life gets quite hard and some of us wants to give up and throw in the towel, but if we just keep going and remember the word of God we can push through.
Thanks Robin for your amazing words, I have enjoyed browsing your blog. I am sure there are others that also find inspiration through your words of hope and comfort.

I am Chimnese and I hope you all have a good week ahead, don't forget to visit Robin's page at Write.It .

Friday Poetry Blog~ Terri

This weeks blog is another blog that I have been reading up for awhile since she has started sharing her poetry on The Gooseberry Garden, I introduce thsi weeks blogger, Terri (What About God).

About The Author

(in her own words)
I have not added her entire about me, feel free to go read up on her.

What do I say about myself?  I am a baby boomer. It is only by the grace of God that I function as well as I do today.
The road I’ve walked has been one of falling away and returning to God many times.  It has, I admit, been quite a painful one but I wouldn’t change a thing!  I’ve made a lot of stupid mistakes.  Through the rebellions and the states of grace, I have grown much closer to God.  I would not be the person I am today and have the relationship that I now have with Him if I had not been struck down with this disease.
I know He is a God of love, compassion and forgiveness.  This is why I started a blog in the first place and named it “What about God?”  I have a wide variety of life lessons to share with anyone who wants to listen.  Hopefully some of you will relate and find inspiration from them.
God bless you and always remember that Jesus died for us because He loves us!
Teresa Marie

Her Blog
What About God?

I have gone straight to her blog and on the right side of her page i went to go see her blog hits, (214,515 hits)quite amazing just to see how many hits this blog has since she has started blogging. Welldone Terri, i have also spotted her christian badges and other awards she has received over a period of time as she writes for Bluebell books and also other online communities.
The blog has the comet theme. Which fits the night sky and her poetry and short stories fits well with that as her background.
To view more on her blog have a look.

About the poetry
(i love all her poetry but this one stuck out to me)

Don't Ask God

Don’t ask God to make
what things you can’t take
To be easier on you
but rather ask Him to
Make you a little stronger
that you will last longer
Bad times to get through
because He has blessed you!

Teresa Marie  11/17/11

All her poetry is uplifting in the spiritual realm, and i have enjoyed reading up on her poetry and stories.
I am Chimnese and it was a pleasure to share this brave ladies work with you on the blog sphere.

Friday Poetry Blog ~ Week 13 ~ I Rhyme Without Reason( Leo)

One of the blogs I have encounted through Jingle Poetry Community earlier this year and also one of my greatest poet friends. I have only known him awhile, but his talent is outstanding no mistake that this talented writer will go far in his pursuit in his literary career.
I introduce this weeks wellknown to all in the Jingle,Gooseberry garden & also Poets Rally former official the person who gave me the chance and helped me with my first Tuesday Review blog, Leo .

About the poet/Leo

"My name is Vinay, and I write under the pen name Leo. I am from India and have been writing since forever, on this blogging world since 5 years nearly, both in Blogger & Wordpress platforms.

At my space, you'll find any form that pleases me, inspire me, makes me write. I feel I live "in words" , and those words "inside ink drops".
I'm far from perfect, far from any destination, and sometimes far from any hope...but I'm always near to words, near to laughter and near to any inspiration that I can give & take! Have fun reading my word."
That is words straight from the author.

Leo has plenty of other activities such as memes that he takes apart in. His blog has finally launched his own facebook page. So if you will please add him to your facebook page & like his Blog page. You can also find him on the networkblogs, twitter aswell.

The Blog : I Rhyme Without Reason

I like the layout of this blog, the background especially it stands out to me, it gives you that welcoming feeling that you do want to read this writers work, and you wouldn't be dissapointed because his poetry is finely crafted. What also attracts me to this blog is the author's pen name, Leo.

Leo is a star sign & it has its own definition even though we can't define the person.
Leo is considered to be a "masculine", positive (extrovert) sign.

The top of the blog has taps where you will be directed to his Me- Memes,Appreciations,Inspire my ink drops. On the right side of the blog you will find the tags and blog roll an dhow you can also become a follower.

His poetry

I have selected this poem because it has such powerful word flow that do touch the reader in some way.

on heart's paper
by Leo

Forgive my broken feet,
for they are dead tired.
dancing with the ghosts,
gathered from my past,
around me like a hoop.

painful my life topples,
hit by a thousand tears,
I wish to run far away,
but my shoulder bolted,
causes me to die here,
drop to my knees again.

I wonder, if I speak out,
will relief be discovered,
or will my heart burst,
drowning in shallow sea,
of an unending horror.

alas, I have not a soul,
to listen to my sorrows,
and my words to stay,
forever inked in blood,
on my hearts papers.

on hearts papers

This poem gives me chills, leo one fantastic poem you have scribbled and you give it that unique effect that all your previous poems I have read thus far give.

"The crown of literature is poetry.. It is its end and aim.  It is the sublimest activity of the human mind.  It is the achievement of beauty and delicacy.' the writer of prose can only step aside when the poet passes."

My name is Chimnese and I wish you all a great week ahead, with fine poetry from I Rhyme Without Reason .

Friday Poetry Blog Week 11 - IBEINGME

This week we spend some time in India & with celebrating Diwali in the hinduasm religion I have decided to visit a very familiar blogger I use to enjoy his work when he had the previous blog, he has moved to wordpress and his none other then, IAMBEINGME .

About Him
Its About Random People

I am seriously not somebody who gets comfortable with everyone. I am shy. (that’s what I think about me and because of some people I started not to care about others. My special thanks to my writing teacher Nimue who actually liked the idea and today itself she told me not to bother about what others will think about what I write) When I look at any stranger I have an opinion about him/her. It’s not basically about being sarcastic on somebody’s looks it’s actually about the moment in which they are and what they will be thinking. I will try to elaborate about them, may be I am not right in judging the moment.

It is that easy as you would take in the title, Just a guy being a guy almost liek what you see is what you get. This fellow has some great talent in his poetry, he dedicates most his poetry to past loves and just life like his own personal journal in poetry.

His Blog

Ibeingme ~ "trying to describe ME"

One thing we have in common, like me he loves his cricket, there is a tab on the top right where you can go and read his Cricket Dairy , I am sure even though we are from different countries, but India has amazing cricket players and the best team has won the current World Cup.

I like this poem that he wrote about the celebration of Diwali

When you light a candle this diwali

This diwali when you light a candle
capture the spark in your eye
let it twinkle through your life
like a star pasted in the sky.
When you light a candle this diwali
let the glow travel inwards too
through a thick yet warm air
To make you gleam and shine through.
When you light a candle this diwali
look in the eyes of the matchstick
see it smile through the flare
see it live in the candle’s wick.
When you light a candle this diwali
learn to burn a candle’s way
Glowing self, melting exterior
till the last breath is snatched away.

This poem has beautiful texture, the way it just gives that glow about the colorful celebration of this day.

Her Smile

Thinking of her smile
He captures in his journal
His dreams and desires.

Thoughlessness

I wanted to write a something today.
But I Can’t think of a anything to say.
instead of taking up your time with
humor, religion, Love or sorrow.
I say Good-bye for now.
and I hope my mind comes back tomorrow.

It was a great visit to have browse and read his blog after such a long time, from myself and iBeingMe we wish you a great week till next time I am Chimnese.

Worry about your character,
not your reputation because
your character is who you `
are & your reputation is

Friday Poetry Blog Week 9- Marbles In My Pockets

This weeks blog review i want to show case this blogger/author on his wonderful journey that he shares with all of us here at The Gooseberry Garden. He also wrote a daily devotional book with his wife as his co-author I surely think that is an amzing thing for a husband & wife to share together. Before I get ahead on with my review I want to introduce Charles L. Mashburn & his blog Marbles In My Pockets .

About The Author/Blogger

Charles L. Mashburn
I am a born again Christian whose ever increasing love for God and insatiable hunger for His knowledge inspires me to share those things and the love for others God has placed within me with all who care to seek Him. I am recently retired from a career as a construction superintendent and can now devote my time to my first love–writing. I have been writing daily devotionals for two years, and have a list of approximately 150 friends, relatives and new acquaintances that I email them to each morning. I also write poetry, short stories and novels. My wife of 15 years, Sherry, and I currently reside in College Station, Texas. My hobbies include golf and gardening, but as I said, my love is writing and I spend most of my time pounding this keyboard and learning more about God as I go. The most exciting thing He has taught me is that His love is unconditional and He wants me to love Him. I don’t know if I will ever be able to adequately return His love, but I am inspired to give it my best effort.

The Blog

This blog gives me that sense, the name of the book, "Be Still" its like saying while you browse through the pages and excellent and well written verses with words that would leave you with moments of deep devotions as it may stir inside the readers minds.
The blog has that calming and away of calling you to come and stop in, " My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. Psalm 71:8"

On the rigt side you will get all the links to his other webpages and also where you can purchase his book" Be Still", also his social networking sites, like Facebook etc.

This daily encouragement passage I find most inspiring is this that I found on Charles blog, "  I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.   John 15:11"

Charles own words explains this passage, " His Poetry

I am just leaving excerpts of his poetry

Forever Changed
Bottle spinning, is but a blur
There on the basement floor
All eyes upon it as it slows
Not knowing what’s in store

Joy is to most of us an elusive and often fleeting thing. We live in a demanding, fast-paced world where it is easy to get caught up in the trials of the day and lose our peace and then our joy. It seems obvious to me that if you are not at peace, you cannot experience joy, and so if you lose your peace, your joy goes with it."

I read awhile ago about joy, that we all have it inside of us, but to release that joy we need to learn how to release it.

Friday Poetry Blog Week 7 - Kim Nelson Writes

This weeks blog review is one of the many blogs that I have been going back and forth over the last few months. She's well known by many of the bloggers from Jingle & Gooseberry community.
Let me introduce this weeks featured blog, Kim Nelson .

About Kim : words by Kim herself.

I AM an artist,  writer, creator and wordsmith.
My media: Words, letters, syntax and form.
Give me some words.
Let me work my magic.
I can’t wait to see what develops.

Her Blog

The blog has the welcoming of a garden side, as I have noted that she also has written books on gardening. I can tell that she is truly one for nature and takes it as God's gifts to us humans to enjoy the beauty especially in teh Springtime.
On her header you will find tabs that would link you to : Books Published, Contact & Archives, she also has a tab for her art. Each creative diversity has its own place where you can enjoy her art, poetry and short story fiction.

Her Poetry, Writing

A Little Light, Please

let me
look into your peepers,
soul to see
let me
saturate myself with
your energy
let me
open up the windows of my heart
willingly invite you from the start
let me
Love
you

Forward 1-9, etc.

Go
forward
lest you find
you’re left behind
because not going
is the same as choosing
to fall back, lose ground, decline
Evolve. Devolve. Seems you have a choice.
“There you go, you are a success aren’t you?”
I personally like this poem, it tells me that we should move on beyond the point we're at this current moment. That life is about moving, evolving and that our goals is there to be reached, nothing is not attainable, depends on ourselves what God has given us to make it worth.
I leave you with this quote inspired by Kim Nelson.

Heaven Lies About Me

“One of the hardest lessons we have to learn in this life, and one that many persons never learn,
is to see the divine, the celestial, the pure,
in the common, the near at hand-
to see that heaven lies about us here in this world.”
- John Burroughs
I am Chimnese and I am wishing you all a great week ahead, also dont forget to check this blogger's work out at Kim Nelson Writes .

POETRY PICNIC WK 6 : Stories from Mythology, Culture and of life

Hello, Friends, This is Shashi, the host for the Sixth week of creativity and enjoyment at

The Gooseberry Garden for Poetry Picnic Week 6.

Last week's poetry picnic was great  because the topic got powerful verses.. from the incredible community of poets such as YOU here. Thank YOU very much.

This week is going to be very interesting as we are going to touch upon some lovely stories from ‘Mythology, Culture and of life’ where you are could share your own stories inspired by mythology or your own thoughts or stories from life, that has touched you deeply...

But before that let me tell you what we are going to do next week...

Next week we are going talk about “Love and Loss” whispering our own feelings... deeply seated within our self and give it a chance to come out in the open and see how it feels to live it... or let it go.

Now coming back to our topic this week ....

POETRY PICNIC WK 6 : Stories from Mythology, Culture and of life

Birth of Venus - Painting by Botticelli c. 1486
The English imagination was fired by Greek mythology starting with Chaucer and John Milton and continuing through Shakespeare to Robert Bridges in the 20th century. Racine in France and Goethe in Germany revived Greek drama, reworking the ancient myths.  Although during the Enlightenment of the 18th century reaction against Greek myth spread throughout Europe, the myths continued to provide an important source of raw material for dramatists, including those who wrote the libretti for many of Handel's and Mozart's operas. By the end of the 18th century, Romanticism initiated a surge of enthusiasm for all things Greek, including Greek mythology. In Britain, new translations of Greek tragedies and Homer inspired contemporary poets (such as Alfred Lord Tennyson, Keats, Byron and Shelley) and painters (such as Lord Leighton and Lawrence Alma-Tadema) Christoph Gluck, Richard Strauss, Jacques Offenbach and many others set Greek mythological themes to music.

In a very broad sense, the word mythology can refer to any traditional story so I am going to share one beautiful story...

Birth of Athena (Greek)
Zeus came to lust after Metis and chased her in his direct way. Metis tried to escape, going so far as to change her form many times by turning into various creatures, such as hawks, fish, and serpents. However, Zeus was both determined and equally proficient in changing form. He continued his pursuit until she relented.

An Oracle of Gaea then prophesied that Metis' first child would be a girl, but her second child would be a boy that would overthrow Zeus as had happened to his father and grandfather. Zeus took this warning to heart. When he next saw Metis, he flattered her and put her at her ease. Then, with Metis off guard Zeus, suddenly opened his mouth and swallowed her. This was the end of Metis, but possibly the beginning of Zeus' wisdom.

After a time Zeus developed the mother of all headaches. He howled so loudly it could be heard throughout the earth. The other gods came to see what the problem was. Hermes realized what needed to be done and directed Hephaestus to take a wedge and split open Zeus's skull. Out of the skull sprang Athena, full grown and in a full set of armour. Due to her manner of birth, Athena has dominion over all things of the intellect.

Friday Poetry Blog Week 6 - Tales From The Sea

Today while I was looking through blogs to find out that seemed to speak to me so I could write a review I found this one. It is called Tales From The Sea. Even before I actually started reading the poems on it and it’s content I was already drawn. The way the posts are made was fascinating to me. All the posts contained images to relate their stories or poeticness. I found the style of the blog very intriguing. One of the poems I liked best on this site was called “Poems” and I can not copy and paste the words here to quote to you since they are inside of the image, so I will simply show you the image which captures the essence of the poem.

Another interesting poem I came across was called Art Class. This poem seems to have a starting hope to it but it gets shattered all too quickly at the end.

The over all lay out of the blog is quite fascinating and worth reading. I unfortunately could not find the author’s name and the About section is quite a fascinating explanation why. The mystery of the author combined with the closeness felt through the poetry is a very captivating combination and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I do recommend, highly, reading this blog.

A Rise Above

I rise above you and all the pain you gave
I turn my back on you there’s nothing left to save
I won’t turn around when I walk out the door
And as I walk away our love will be no more

Life

Life is a place in time, borrowed from the Universe
Birth to death in dreams to diverse
A fleeting time to enjoy and embrace
Life is where living takes place

I'm ending this weeks Poetry Blog Review with one of my favorite poems. Don't forget to browse and enjoy the fine poetry and inspiration from Jeanie McBain

I am With You

I see you, can you hear me
I’m with you every day
I hold you close beside me
In a soft breeze I hear you pray
I touch you, can you feel me
In tender loving care
In raindrops falling softly
I am with you every where
I love you, you’re not forsaken
I whisper to your heart
In warmth and love unshaken
I’ve been with you from the start
I bring colours, can you see
In a rainbow in the sky
I bring you closer unto me
I am with you, I’m close by
Jeanie McBain
I am Chimnese and Jeanie McBain wishing you all a good work.
