Friday Poetry Blog Review Week 30 on Lady Nyo

Howdy y’all, this is A.B. Thomas and I have been given the opportunity to do this week’s blog review. To be truthful, I was a little hesitant when I was asked to do a blog review; I don’t really see the technical side of writing or art as being as important as how the work presents the uniqueness of the artist within their creation. On the other hand, I loathe turning down a challenge that takes me out of my comfort zone – one cannot expand their own understanding of themselves if they remain entombed in their own cocoon, can they?  I hope I don’t fuddle this up too much!

Impressions of the blog
Lady Nyo’s blog is very minimalistic and clean looking in its presentation; her work, a header and a blog roll are all that are presented on the pages. The template she chose really allows for the images that she has chosen to a part of the entries stand out to draw a reader to that particular piece.  The centered single column style allows the reader to be undistracted by a conflicting activity to either side of the work.
Lady Nyo’s work is outstanding to read; she mixes her presentation with art, thoughts, information, and perception with her creativity. She not only presents an obvious knack for the poetic flair and penning of such but presents episodic stories that are thoroughly entertaining to read.
Suggestions
I find that I am at odds with myself in the inclination of the nature of the suggestion I would have for this blog.  My initial reaction to the lack of a category or archive feature to her entries was confusion; how was I to focus on a particular poetic style or theme? The flip side of this lack was that I enjoyed simply reading without having that expectation of anticipating a specific subject or feel.  Having no quick link to archived material could be an intentional omission on her part, and if it is so, it is her blog and the quality of the work is what is the focus not the frills to which end she has provided ample delights for the mind to dance cheek to cheek with the imagination.
I would like to thank Lady Nyo for putting her thoughts, experiences, opinions and creativity into the blogosphere for all to enjoy, and I hope that she continues to provide such delicious mind candy for me to savour.
